What to Expect

Who are we?

We are a community of believers of Jesus Christ that love to gather together to worship our Creator and fellowship with one another. We are human and in turn, not perfect. If you are not perfect, you will fit in "perfectly!"

What do I wear?

Come just as you are! You will see people in jeans and you will see people in suits from time to time. We are generally "casual" in dress. The important thing to wear is an open heart to receive the many blessings that are available for those who believe.

Where do I park?

Parking is available directly in front of the church on Second Street (reserved for handicapped use), along both sides of Hearne Street, in the Manse parking lot, across from the church in the Post Office Parking Lot, and finally the Home Savings Bank parking lot.

Where do I go once I get there?

We have greeters on Sunday mornings at the main entrance of the church (Sanctuary) to welcome you and give you information (including a map!). Sunday School begins at 10AM and Worship at 11AM. Click on the maps below to enlarge them and print if desired.

When do I need to arrive?

We encourage you to come to a time of fellowship and coffee in the mornings at 9:45, followed by Sunday School for all ages staring at 10. If you are planning on coming just to the Worship Service, then any time prior to 11AM is fine.

Is there a nursery available for my infant?

There is a nursery available for infants up to first grade during Sunday School and Worship Service as well as on Wednesday nights. Our greeters will be glad to show you the way once you arrive.

Can I keep my baby with me in the sanctuary during the worship service?

Absolutely! We love the sounds of babies at our church, so you will not feel pressured to take your baby to our nursery. We love worshiping TOGETHER so your baby or small child will only enhance our worship experience together. We love seeing new faces (including babies and kids)!

What is your worship service like?

Our leadership is very adamant about centering everything we do in our worship service around Jesus Christ, our Savior. God has talented Second Street for many years with many talented musicians. You will find we sing many uplifting songs in worship that not only sound good, but with lyrics that gives all the honor and glory to God. We enjoy singing together as a congregation using contemporary Christian music as well as more traditional hymns sung for many generations. While the first half of the service is focused mainly on singing praises and lifting up prayers, the second half is largely devoted to expository preaching (often straight through books of the Bible). The Holy Bible is our instruction manual on how we should live our lives as well as a love letter to "those who are called according to His purpose." Click HERE to listen to some recent sermons. Want a sneak peak?

Still not so sure about us yet? ;) Why don't you watch some complete video feeds of some recent services? You can even watch our service live in the comfort of your own home to get a better feel about who we are. Our hope is after you do this, you will come visit us in person to really experience the love we have for God and one another at SSPC!
